Upscale Plaid (Sat Oct 12/24)

Upscale Plaid is a modern take on a traditional plaid pattern using alternating strips of colour that appear woven together, while playing with a transparent effect. Pattern includes instruction for 7 sizes from coasters to King! This pattern also includes 5 layout options for the quilt sizes. Upscale Plaid makes a great Christmas or holiday quilt but it is also really great for any occasion. This is your chance to play with colours!

This quilt's design layout is available on PreQuilt to design your quilt top before buying fabric or even looking at the pattern! PreQuilt has a free ("demo") version available for use. Upgrading to a plan in PreQuilt allows you to save your work. 
*Pre-cut your fabric prior to class to maximize your time in class. You will be able to get to block building right away. We suggest prepping your fabric before cutting with starch / Best Press to reduce fraying and stretching of fabrics while piecing (improves accuracy!)

If you want us to hold the pattern until you come in for your class, choose "pick up" for your online order.

Class sewing machine rentals are available for a nominal fee - call the store to reserve. 780-354-3423.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our classes we ask you to bring (along with your sewing machine) a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, cutting mat, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, tape measure/ruler(s), etc.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
Classes are non-refundable. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class, regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. You are welcome to arrange for someone else to take your spot in the class instead. Around The Block reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.
