Quilted Hoodie (Sat Feb 14/26)

This pattern allows you to create a cozy quilted hoodie using scraps of your favourite fabrics! Whether you're making it for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, this hoodie pattern combines comfort with creativity. This class focuses on sizing, cutting and final construction of your hoodie. piecing and construction of the quilted panels is done prior to class. Cutting up a pre-existing quilt is also an option!! 

Class sewing machine rentals are available for a nominal fee - call the store to reserve. 780-354-3423.

We do suggest that you lay out your paper pattern pieces on top of your quilted sections to make sure you have ample room for cutting or adjusting. Cutting will happen in class. You must have quilted sections already completed prior to class. The class focusses on the sizing, cutting and final construction of the hoodie, not the actual piecing and construction of the quilted panels.

Should you need time or guidance, you are welcome to come to our Finishing Fridays, where staff can assist you. Or, please, reach out.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our classes we ask you to bring (along with your sewing machine) a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, cutting mat, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, tape measure/ruler(s), etc.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
Classes are non-refundable. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class, regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. You are welcome to arrange for someone else to take your spot in the class instead. Around The Block reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.
