3 Yard Quilt Day (Sat Jul 18/26)

Admiring those "3 Yard Quilts" and needing some guidance? Fabric Cafe's 3 Yard Quilt patterns are quick to make and make great use of just 3 metres of fabric. We even make bundles just for these quilts - 3 coordinating fabrics with the third fabric being cut just a bit larger so you have the option of double thickness binding. Work on any "3 Yard Quilt" pattern and Carolyn will guide you along. Most books also contain instructions on how to make your quilt in larger sizes!

FABRIC & SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
*Basic Sewing Kit (see below for suggested kit items)
Any 3 Yard Quilt Book/Pattern
3 coordinating fabrics in cuts of: 1 metre, 1 metre and 1.25m (this one will also be your binding)
**we also have premade 3.25m bundles ready to go at the store/online


SUGGESTED SUPPLIES
Microtex 90 needle (little bit sturdier than your regular quilting needle)
Wool Pressing Mat - helps make super crisp seams
Best Press) - reduces fraying and stretching and also help with accuracy!

PREP WORK BEFORE CLASS
No prep work required
*You may wish to starch and press your fabric pre-class (we like Best Press). You will have time in class for this as well. This will help reduce fraying and stretching on the bias after cutting. With so many blocks to assemble, starching pre-cutting helps with cutting and piecing accuracy.

WHAT IS IN A BASIC SEWING KIT:
For most of our classes we ask you to bring (along with your sewing machine) a 'basic sewing kit' which usually contains: rotary cutter and/or scissors, cutting mat, small snipping scissors, straight pins & a pin cushion or collector, seam ripper, a spool of neutral 50 wt cotton thread, extra bobbins, notebook & pen/pencil, tape measure/ruler(s), etc.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
Classes are non-refundable. No credit or refund will be given for a "no show" in class, regardless of reason. So please ensure that you are able to attend before signing up. You are welcome to arrange for someone else to take your spot in the class instead. Around The Block reserves the right to cancel classes/events for any reason. If this happens, you will be refunded your full class fee.
